Fall Festival on the Avenue-Saturday, September 22, 2007 1PM-9PM


West Reading will host its First Annual Fall Festival on the Avenue on September 22, 2007 from 1PM to 9PM.  Enjoy plenty of live German and bluegrass music along Penn Avenue as you browse local shops' sidewalk sales.  Many local restaurants will be offering both their own specialty food and traditional German fare.  To go with the fall and German traditional theme, there will be a beer garden under tents set up in the West Reading Shopping Center parking lot located in the 500 Block of Penn Avenue.  Children will love the pumpkin patch located near the beer garden. 

Beer Garden
The Beer Garden will be located under tents setup in the West Reading Shopping Center (500 Block Penn Avenue).  $10 admission will include one free commemorative beer stein and first draft.  Each draft after general admission will be $2 provided by Legacy Brewing and Reading Premium Beer Company.  Legacy Brewing will be unveiling their new Oktoberfest beer at this event!

Traditional German Volksmarch
Take part in a traditional European style "peoples' march" along Penn Avenue, West Reading 1PM-6PM.  Sponsored by Berkshire Bank.  Each walker may register at Berkshire Bank (525 Penn Avenue) up until 5PM.  Walkers will be given a "passport" for local businesses to stamp.  Completed passports should be returned to Berkshire Bank to be entered in our drawing to receive a commemorative prize.  The drawing will be for one evening,s dinner and overnight stay at the Alpenhof Restaurant.

Penn Corridor Table
The emerging Penn Corridor will be represented at the Oktoberfest tent with an upcoming Calendar of Events schedule and information on both the RiverFest and West Reading's Fall Festival on the Avenue events.
